Twitter , a popular social network where users can tweet there thoughts to the people , is taking a step forward for being transparent with their users . For being transparent with user twitter announced about launch of twitter's " Transparency Center " .  Transparency Center will allow users to see complete information about any ads which shows on twitter , will offer everyone visibility into who is advertising on Twitter, details behind those ads, and tools to share your feedback with twitter .

With the Transparency Center users can see all the informations related to ads such as all ads which are at the present time showing by Twitter ads will also include  Promoted-Only ads. With Transparency Center users would be also able to time duration for how long ads have been running. Transparency Center will also share information about Ad creater those created that campaigns ,the organisation funding the campaign, the total campaign ad spend, the targeting demographics they have chosen and  historical data about all electioneering ad spending by advertiser

Transparency Center will also provide opportunity to users for reporting about ads that user think to be an inappropriate ad or users would be also able to give a negative feedback . For reporting about inappropriate ad , it doesn't matter that ad targeted to you or not . Twitter said that - "All the feedback which given by users will help us more quickly for removing inappropriate ads from Twitter, and we will make improvement to show you more relevant ads in your timeline. "

Twitter made the some improvements for the political or electioneering ads. Before seeing more information about improvements made by twitter on political ads  lets understand about what kind of ads are known as political or electioneering ads :-

Political or Electioneering ads are those ads that related to a clearly identified candidate or party associated with that candidate  for any elected office.

Lets now consider about improvements for electioneering ads . Twitter will creat a special section for electioneering ads. Twitter updated the appearance of political ads ,  The ads will have some sort of visual marker, likely a purple dot next to the user handle, and a purple box with the text "Promoted by" and the name of the sponsor. The changes would not affect political issue-based ads that do not name a specific candidate, although Falck said Twitter was working on this.For Electioneering ads twitter also updated electioneering advertisers policy :-


The update policy includes stricter requirements for the advertisers who can serve the electioneering ads and twitter will target a limit for the advertisers , Twitter will identify electioneering advertisers before showing ads , stronger penalties will be fix by Twitter for advertisers who creat the violation of policies . This policy will also apply to ads on our platform that run at any time and expressly advocate for a clearly identified political candidate.

With Electioneering ads twitter also working on issue based ads . Regarding issue based ads twitter announced that , " We are committed to stricter policies and transparency around issue-based ads. There is currently no clear industry definition for issue-based ads but we will work with our peer companies, other industry leaders, policy makers, and ad partners to clearly define them quickly and integrate them into the new approach. "



Twitter will develop the Transparency Center step by step , Twitter will make all of the updates discussed above firstly in the U.S., and then roll out the updates around the world. Everyone can also see informations about the progress on the official blog of twitter.

In previous week , For holding a public hearing today on political advertising laws and regulations to facilitate a thoughtful discussion on disclosure policy , Senators Mark Warner (D-VA), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and John McCain (R-AZ) and Representatives Derek Kilmer (D-WA), and Mike Coffman (R-CO) and Chairman Hurd (R-TX)  made a discussion on political advertising laws and regulations and disclosure policy as a result introduced a legislation to increase digital ad transparency which known as  “The Honest Ads Act,” would force digital platforms with 50 million or more monthly unique visitors to follow the same political ad regulations as television and radio outlets.
