The popular social networks like twitter and facebook are now working on ads Transparency .Two days ago twitter announced about ads Transparency Center . Now Similarly facebook is also announced about Advertising Transparency and Authenticity Efforts . Facebook announced that advertising Transparency will be available for the users from next month. Through advertising Transparency users will be able to see complete information about Advertisers or organization those are running their ads campaign on facebook .

In the next month a view ad button will appear on facebook page . View ad will also appear on Messenger and instagram which are also owned by facebook . By clicking on view ad users will be able to se a page where information about all ads that are running on facebook , instagram and messenger even ad targeted to user or not . All the pages will be part of this effort, and we will require that all ads be associated with a Page as part of the ad creation  process.Facebook think that the Transparency is good for democracy and it’s good for the electoral process. Transparency helps everyone, especially political watchdog groups and reporters .

Mark Elliott Zuckerberg, Chief Executive Officer of facebook announced about facebook advertising transparency and authenticity efforts that ,"We were taking to help protect the integrity of elections, both in the United States and around the world. Earlier this month, our VP of Public Policy Joel Kaplan provided additional details on what we’re doing to make advertising more transparent, increase requirements for authenticity and strengthen our enforcement against ads that violate our policies."

Currently Facebook is testing the advertising transparency and authenticity efforts. In initial step facebook will roll out the the advertising transparency in Canada on next month due to which facebook users who use facebook from Canada will able to use see view ad from next month . After completion of testing facebook will roll it out roll it out to the US by this summer, ahead of the US midterm elections in November, as well as broadly to all other countries around the same time.

Once the facebook advertising transparency and authenticity efforts will live for all users then after clicking on view ad that will appear on facebook page users will be able to see all information related to ads which includes :-

◆ The ad in a searchable archive that, once full, will cover a rolling four-year period – starting from when we launch the archive.

◆ Details about total amounts that spent by advertiser or organization for showing their ad campaign on Facebook .

◆ Details about Advertisers or organization those running their ad campaign on Facebook .

◆ Details About the number of impressions that delivered by facebook to ads .

◆  The  demographics information about the audience that the ads reached.  The demographics  information will include age , gender and location of users .

Facebook is taking strict steps for those advertisers who want to show political ads on Facebook , these Advertisers have to verify their identity through documentation . Under    the documentation process, advertisers may be required to identify that they are running election-related advertising and verify both their entity and location.  After Verifying identity afese advertisers will have to include a disclosure in their election-related ads ,after clicking on disclosure users will be able to see details about the advertiser.
