Facebook is a social networking website, founded in 2004, Facebook's mission is to give people the power to build community and bring the world closer together. In the beginning, Facebook was only a website called " thefacebook.com " now Facebook is the largest social network on the web, behind only MySpace in terms of traffic. Now Facebook is not only a website but a popular social networking platform in the form of a website , in the form of application, and since it is known as Facebook instead of a website " thefacebook.com ". Currently, Facebook also owns other social networks, those social networks are messenger, Instagram, and Whatsapp.

Here he won many prizes in science and classical studies. He began using computers and writing software in middle school. First, he learned BASIC Programming from his father in 1990 and later hired software developer David Newman to tutor him privately. While Mark Zuckerberg was studying in the college a site was built by one of the roommates of Mark Zuckerberg only for fun. The site operated by roommate only for a weekend an site was shut down on Monday morning. The reason behind the shutting down of the site is, the popularity of the site was overwhelmed.

  On the bases of their knowledge of computer Programming Mark Zuckerberg started writing code for his own new Website in January 2004, Finally on 4 February 2004 a new site which was known as  "Thefacebook" was launched by Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg's new Website was " thefacebook.com ". The origins of Facebook have been in dispute since the very week a 19-year-old Mark Zuckerberg launched the site as a Harvard sophomore on February 4, 2004. Then called "thefacebook.com," the site was an instant hit.  Now, six years later, the site has become one of the biggest web sites in the world, visited by 400 million people a month.


On 10 February 2004, Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss, and Divya Narendra, accused Zuckerberg of intentionally misleading them into believing he would help them build a social network called HarvardConnection.com, while he was instead using their ideas to build a competing product. The three complained to The Harvard Crimson, and the newspaper began an investigation in response.

Following the official launch of the Facebook social media platform, the three filed a lawsuit against Zuckerberg that resulted in a settlement. The agreed settlement was for 1.2 million Facebook shares that were worth US$300 million at Facebook's IPO. Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard in his sophomore year in order to complete his project. And he succeeds in developing a popular social network which is known as Facebook and using by people around the world.

History Of Facebook

In 2003, when Mark Zuckerberg was studying at Harvard University as second-year student, a website was launched by the roommate of Mark Zuckerberg, for this website Mark Zuckerberg wrote a program on the basis of their computer programming knowledge. This website is known as the " Facemash ". On this website, some pictures were uploaded by them. The Facemash has collected 450 users and 22000 photo views only on its starting four hours. But this website ran only for a weekend and shut down by the administrators of Harvard.

After someday some social study tools of an art history final exam uploaded by Zuckerberg on Facemash. He uploaded all art images to a website, each of which was featured with a corresponding comments section,  then he shared the site with his classmates, and people started sharing notes.

In January 2004 Zuckerberg started writing a program for his new website. The writing of the program completed by  him in February 2004. Finally, on 4 February, 2004 Zuckerberg launched a website which is known as " the facebook ". The URL of the facebook was thefacebook.com. Six days after the site launched, Harvard seniors Cameron Winklevoss, Tyler Winklevoss, and Divya Narendra accused Zuckerberg of intentionally misleading them into believing that he would help them build a social network called HarvardConnection.com.

On the first month of the launching of website, only the students of Harvard college were the member of the facebook . Later more people outside from Harvard college joined the facebook which included  Eduardo Saverin (business aspects), Dustin Moskovitz (programmer), Andrew McCollum (graphic artist), and Chris Hughes. These helped the Zuckerberg for promoting his website. Till March 2004, Mark Zuckerberg and his associates were able to expand TheFacebook to the universities of Columbia, Stanford, and And then expanded to all Ivy League colleges, Boston University, New York University, MIT, and gradually most universities in the United States and Canada.

In mid-2004, Zuckerberg announced the entrepreneur Sean Parker who was an informal advisor as to the president of Thefacebook. The domain name facebook.com was purchased by Zuckerberg in 2005. Then membership of Facebook was not limited they expanded the membership for facebook.com to several companies which included Microsoft, Apple, etc.
